Summary: Multiple production monitors reported timeouts across hamperhelp.ca, hamperhelp.com, and associated health check endpoints. Investigation confirmed the issue originated at the infrastructure layer — the OCI Load Balancer logged connection timeouts attempting to reach backend instances, while the instances themselves remained healthy throughout (no container restarts, no application errors, normal memory usage). The incident self-resolved without any changes on our end.
Root cause: An Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) networking event in the ca-toronto-1 region caused the load balancer to lose connectivity to backend instances. OCI did not post a public status update for this event.
Impact: The platform was unreachable for approximately 2 hours. No data was lost and no application errors occurred.
Resolution: Infrastructure connectivity was restored by OCI. No changes were required on our end.
